Charles Leclerc Launches New Fashion Line Featuring His Favorite Hoodie
“Fashion has consistently been one of my interests. I love expressing myself through my clothing choices and have always aspired to engage in a fashion project at some point in my life,” shares Charles Leclerc, the Monégasque Formula 1 driver representing Ferrari.
Leclerc is excited to unveil a new clothing and accessories line under the iconic Ferrari brand. He reflects on his time as a Ferrari driver and the opportunity to collaborate with Rocco Iannone, the creative director of Ferrari Style, who joined the company in 2019 to oversee its fashion range and lifestyle brand aspects.
“Our aim was to showcase not just Charles the driver, but Charles the individual,” Leclerc emphasizes. The new collection emphasizes streetwear over high-fashion, prioritizing comfort and casual vibes.
As someone who is reserved and somewhat reluctant in the spotlight, Leclerc openly shares his love for his dachshund, Leo, and his penchant for playing music on a Steinway Model B piano. His passion for fashion design has been a long-standing dream, now realized with Iannone’s collaboration.
According to Iannone, “This wardrobe merges aesthetics, design, and functionality, embodying both Charles’s distinctive spirit and Ferrari’s essence. Together, we’ve crafted a sporty, contemporary aesthetic.”
Leclerc remarks on the thrill of diving into the fashion world: “This collection reflects my feelings, inspired by what I find most comfortable. For instance, the colors that represent me are blue, white, and beige, reminiscent of the Riviera and Monaco, integral parts of my identity.” Growing up in Monte Carlo has influenced Leclerc’s laid-back fashion sense.
He continues, “After establishing this foundation, we focused on textile choices. Rocco and I explored different techniques, particularly how we approached the denim.”
Denim plays a significant role in the collection, and Iannone highlights their shared vision for expressing Riviera’s spirit through a cloud-like tie-dye treatment on the denim.
The collection features essential items that align with Leclerc’s preferences, including T-shirts and sweatshirts showcasing racing motifs, cotton trousers with generous pockets, parkas, and tops displaying the letter L in relief, crafted from technical fabrics, plus styles resembling racing suits.
However, the standout piece is the hoodie, favored by both the F1 driver and the creative director. Iannone describes it as the collection’s centerpiece, while Leclerc states the beige zip-up hoodie encapsulates his style perfectly.
“I’ve always found hoodies to be particularly comfortable, especially recently,” Leclerc explains. The attraction is more than just the look; “With Formula 1 on a global stage, my life has transformed dramatically from just being a ‘normal’ person a decade ago. The hood acts as a shield, allowing me to remain a bit more discreet.”
He also appreciates the color scheme: “This collection features a palette I genuinely enjoy—beige, navy, light blue, and white.” Each piece is marked with the Ferrari x Charles Leclerc label, inspired by the colors of the Monaco flag.
The collection also includes accessories such as sunglasses, baseball caps, sneakers, and driving gloves. Additionally, three handcrafted limited-edition travel trunks are available in brown leather with jacquard linings designed for clothing, helmets, and a smaller trunk for sunglasses and watches. A new version of the Nello Tool Case, crafted from the same leather as the luggage, also showcases intricate metal bolts.
Interestingly, Leclerc’s brand launches are not limited to humans; his dachshund, Leo, is included too. In addition to a Ferrari x Charles Leclerc collar and leash, there is a matching hoodie for pets, ensuring a coordinated look for both owner and canine.
